Joy Fleetham joined SDP in 1990 and has since served as a celebrated community activist, volunteering to engage in a wide variety of local projects. Touching the lives of many including the elderly and homeless, Joy is driven by an unrelenting commitment to social justice and equality.
True community champions like Joy roll up their sleeves, continuously engaging in voluntary work to benefit society. No time off on Christmas Day- Joy may be found taking meals to the housebound. Her passion for serving others is inspiring and her enthusiasm contagious.
Joy is a bona fide contributor. She has, among her many accolades, been an active member of her church council and a school governor. If that lifestyle were not busy enough, Joy took up fencing aged 63 and is now the President of her club. Her incredible journey has taken her to many destinations across the UK including Buckingham Palace!
A Social Democrat to her bones, Joy is an approved candidate and plans to stand for SDP in 2018.
